Mount Snow

For the last couple of days of Chanukah, my family and our friends went skiing in Vermont. The skiing is amazing (although I’m still just a beginner) but I also really love the surroundings here: sternly towering pine trees, wide-open fields of powdery white snow, and quietly rustic lodges are all abundant in Vermont, and appeal to my love of nature and adventure.
We’re staying in a beautiful house, complete with a fireplace for warming up by when we return from the slopes, and I’ll definitely be sad when we leave this gorgeous winter wonderland tomorrow. I didn’t bring my camera along (this was a real vacation!) but here are a few pictures that I snapped with my phone, just to capture a little of the subtle beauty that’s prevalent here.
Happy holidays to all! And if you celebrated Chanukah, which just ended, I hope it was truly wonderful.

  1. Is skiing hard Chaya? I need to learn, but am scared of the unknown. 🙂 The pictures are dreamy…a total treat for a California girl like myself. Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, thanks so much for sharing! 🙂

    • Skiing is definitely scary in the beginning! I’d recommend taking a group class or a private lesson- I did, and it helped me a lot! But either way, expect to fall a lot. I actually wiped out pretty badly on one trail and ended up with whiplash 😁. But all in all, it’s super fun and gives you such an adrenaline rush. I can’t wait to read all about it when you go!! And you’ll love the snow. Take lots of pictures 🙂 hope you had a wonderful holiday!

  2. you were able to snap beautiful pix, even with your phone.
i love the idea of snow in vermont, but only in pictures!

  3. What a magical place to celebrate the end of Chanukah – thank you for sharing the pictures! That’s probably the closest I’ll get to a white Christmas this year 😉
