Snickerdoodle & Sea Salt Cocoa

Lately, cooking and baking with sea-salt has become a huge trend. It’s in everything from caramels to fudges and chocolates.
We decided to make a cinnamon “snickerdoodle” cocoa and added a bunch of ingredients. When we tasted it, we agreed that it needed an extra zing and decided to add sea salt on a whim. Hey, opposites attract!
It was. So. Good.
We’re going to do this sea-salt thing more often!
It’s a combination of flavors that are unexpectedly complimentary to each other (and the swirl of whipped cream on top certainly doesn’t hurt.)  We made this drink without exact amounts, so check out the list of ingredients below, and add more or less of whatever flavor you want to highlight.

  • Cocoa
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  • Mint Extract (just a drop adds a mysterious underlying flavor)
  • Sea Salt (hand-ground is optional, but improves the flavor)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cinnamon sticks

  1. This looks so good!! Might be a challenge deciding how much of everything to add, as I like to know exactly how I am supposed to cook/bake, but I will try this next time it snows 🙂
